Soo March Toronto Comicon 2012 went by. I must say, compared to DTAC and the previous year's MTAC, this newly improved "Comicon" was FAR better than expected. It was actually a really nice time, and felt like a day at FanExpo, with loads of sci-fi guests. It seems like Hobbystar is fading away from the anime crowd, which is a good direction for them, because they put on SHIT productions for that.
I wore my Hungary cosplay with my friend Yvonne as Belarus~!
I'll never find an Austria ;_;
glayish and I went to Wizarding World in Orlando!!! Our mom took us as a birthday gift, and her sister (our Aunt) and cousin came as well. IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING TRIP! Had a great time :D
Blackberry phone photos because my Nikon was way too heavy to carry around the theme parks and rides.
We stayed at one of the resort hotels on Universal Studios property and did a full 2 days at Wizarding World and the other attactions. omfg the rides. We went on almost EVERY ride and event, I think we only missed 3 or 4 out of the entire experience, so it was a very busy and exciting trip. Spent a lot too on Hogwarts memerobilia, though not as as much as glayish and my Aunt did XD.
I loved the Hogwarts castle ride (the Dragon exhaling steam out on you is the best part hell yeah), but I think my favourite ride at the park was The Revenge of the Mummy. Rollercoaster in the dark. Thrillerrr
We exhausted Universal Studios, so we spent our 3rd day at Disney's Epcot because my Aunt had really wanted to go. The last time we ever visited Disney was waaaay back (I think I was 8 or 9) so it was pleasant to go back, even though the rides were lame compared to Universal's rollercoasters.
Of course, the World pavillions were SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING thanks to Hetalia XD;
It should be interesting to note that the Italian pavillion and German pavillion were right next to each other, connected by The Romantic Road
It was super difficult to get photos of the whole place because of the crowds (and it was impossible to stand back and get the full shots), but yes. :D
All in all, it was a great trip, though I somehow contracted a contagion while at Disney and fell sick OTL. The bug is still hanging around so even after a week I've got a crappy cough and sniffles -_-;;; ugh. Hello 4th sickness of the year.
In other news, cosplay progress!
I posted this stuff on facebook, but no matter how much I try to use it more and like it; I hate facebook. So I figure I will just go back to posting on livejournal. (Even though nobody really reads LJ anymore lol)
My ClearlyContacts brand 'Splash of Color' blue contacts. (Colour is Blue n' Brazen). It's so tough to find a true blue contact that will show up on brown eyes, but these do really well!
Ripped up my Princess Amelia wig and restyled it so it was less stiff looking. I recently added in the purple low-light wefting but it's not in these pics.
Resin casting!! fff I dunno I was expecting something horrific to happen with my gems but they're turning out passable. Still experimenting, I've got some more curing right now... (although I suspect I will have to re-cast some of the required blue ones because I noticed a lot of bubbles -_-)
Right now I'm not sure what's going on for Anime North. I'm not working on Max (Beyblade) anymore because my Mariam couldn't make it to AN this year. I'm also making very very slow progress... I don't want to rush anything on my Amelia cosplay just because this is a remake and it's no good if you remake something and it looks shitty -_-;; (everything is already looking like an improvement to my 2006 cosplay though). Also, every time I go to work on it, my mother shames and guilts me for it. What? No comments when I'm spending a whole night scrolling on tumblr (MAJOR NON-PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITY)?? But as soon as I sit down to mix chemicals and plug in a glue gun I'm spending my free time on a worthless hobby.
It's depressing. I don't know if I'll be able to finish on time for Anime North just because of that. We'll see.
Pottermore finally opened! For MONTHS _anatra_, jiyoon, glayish and I have been waiting to sign up and get official sorting from the sorting hat.

As someone who has identified as a Gryffindor for over 10 years, it was like a stab to the gut getting sorted into Slytherin. :\
I'm profoundly glad I wore all my gryffindor merchandise on the weekend before, because now it feels like a lie OTL. *sob* I'm not surprised though. I was most afraid of being sorted Slytherin because I always suspected. I just wish I had sorted Gryffindor ='(
I suck at having patience for games though, so I likely won't be on there much after the initial curiosity for the content fades.
