I decided to write an entry. REGARDLESS of the like.. 2 people who might actually skim this.

Still they don't beat being able to type up long diatribes like this interface.
A few eventful things have occurred since my last con report about FanExpo 2013.
Down at Dundas Square there was a Star Trek into Darkness screening with costume contest. The prize was a 50" flat screen TV, so since
glayish and I had our Kirk & Spock The Voyage Home cosplays we threw them on hastily in under an hour (unheard of wtf!!) and drove in all the way over there to try and win.

We got interviewed a bunch and our costumes were the only hand-made ones there and well received. Except there was a fucking CHILD in the line-up who got more applause... fuck it I'm boiling just remember the injustice. Well let's just put it out there that we did not win the TV. We did, however, go home with consolation prices of $800 worth of store credit to CinemaNow (like Netflix except crappier). So that was something at least.
Later that month, I went to TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) with
glayish. Except, we didn't have tickets for anything. We stood 8hrs against the barricade by the red carpet for the Rush movie premiere for a potential glimpse at Chris Hemsworth. Oh and glayish was wearing her Thor costume. I have to say, it was literally worse than any other kind of line/waiting experience EVER. At least it didn't rain and somehow we managed to get a good spot, but it was with some gawdawful unshowered fan girls in kigurumi & wearing stockings as pants. SIGH. WE DID GET CHRIS HEMSWORTH'S SIGNATURE THO!

We celebrated
jiyoon's birthday by going to Medival Times Dinner & Tournament. First time I've ever been. It was actually pretty fun, despite the fact a certain person being there too. The meal was a LOT of chicken. Gah was so stuffed. The actual show was pretty good. Got tossed a flower from a knight!

Attended the Silver Snail Halloween Party 2013. I basically had a crap time. But I re-wore Sailor Mars! That was a plus. Of course there was another girl wearing Sailor Mars and of course she was taller, thinner and prettier. fwahhahahah. OTL;; Oh well. I nursed a headache for most of the party due to the tight wig and tiara. Also immense foot pain. Great idea to wear that. Bah, lol. I don't think I'll go next year.

After that,
Thor 2: The Dark World came out!
It was GLORIOUS. Pretty much everything I wanted to happen, actually did. Thor still remains my favourite marvel movie universe story. I LOOOVE Chris Hemsworth! Saw it twice on opening weekend. Once at ScotiaBank theater in Toronto with
glayish and
jiyoon (and anatra).
Also, I recently watched new anime.
Attack on Titan
How frustrating was the last episode!? Ugh. Well I have to say it's well done. Gave me a bit of a Naruto vibe at first, which is why I never touched it before now. But it's actually a rather good series. Even though it's unfinished. The Titans themselves and the crazy violence is the best part.
Free! (Swimming Anime)
MY NEW FAV ANIME of the 21st century. Lol oh this show was utterly perfect. I loved every minute of it. I ship Rei x Nagisa and Mako x Haru. But obviously there's tons of Rin/Haru implications. That's not even the best part about it. The actual show & story is good and superbly put together. Which is so rare in such a genre. Anyway, highly recommend if you're like me and hadn't watched it yet.
Kill La Kill
I basically think of this as Revolutionary Girl Utena, except everything inversed. It's still in progress, so I hope it keeps up it's refreshing style. I like the fact that it involves clothing/uniforms as being super powered so there as sewing elements to the whole show. Makes me think of cosplay. Lots of humor and really fast paced. I'm enjoying it so far!
Oreimo(Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai) (My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute)
THIS WAS AMAZING!! It's been a looooong time since I watched a harem style anime (loads of girl characters and one guy who is the love interest), but I'm glad I watched this one. It's freaking hilarious, for one thing, and it's got a whole bunch of tropes and kinks that are right up alley. Oh, and the premise of course, is a popular girl becoming an otaku and becoming obsessed with little-sister eroge (erotic content video games). It's great because she makes anime friends from online, they all go to comiket together and its generally a clashing of worlds all with great otaku girl archetypes. Oh and Bro-Sis incest.
I wouldn't mind cosplaying from one of these series. Although, it seems like a lot of the cosplayers I like have moved from anime to comics/games stuff. Which is understandable as the anime crowd is so young and obnoxious at a lot of cons, and I generally have more fun at comic/sci-fi con now, too. I don't really play video games and not many comic characters strike my fancy. I do like sci-fi, but Star Trek is actually rather difficult/expensive X'D. I'm still saving and gathering my materials to produce a copy of a Maroon Monster a la Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
I want to plan my convention choices to be more about quality of the programming/area these days. I was thinking about SDCC, but it's going to be pricey to get out all the way to the west coast in order to stand in line all day and not cosplay. I want to attend a con that has a good cosplay presence but also some decent guests and programming. East coast/central, something easier to get to.
Speaking of what I do have planned:
The next con coming up is December Toronto Anime Con 2013
But I'm debating on whether to go to that at all. Hobbystar puts on a shit show >_>. I do have a free pass, but I guess it'll be up to if the weather is good and I'm feeling up to going downtown and cosplaying. Also if
glayish is willing to come with. I wanted to wear Madoka again since I was unhappy with how I looked in it the first time (sleep deprived, windblown, cold and grimacing, overdone make-up, and really fucking orange for some reason).
Katsucon 2014
I'm REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!

I was originally supposed to cosplay Slayers with Jelly Cosplay. But she's still not ready to, and I really wanted to work on it since I had no other plans. Chibi Tifa Cosplay had Naga on her list and decided to bump it up to join me at Katsucon. Hopefully it pans out and we can get some shots together!
I had planned Ranma-Chan alone, but
izunadrop247 is going to bring back his Ranma-Kun, so boy-type and girl-type it is.
Oh yes, also somewhere in the middle of all that I gained a boyfriend. LOL;; Sounds weird to say.
izunadrop247 ~! My convention friend from the past.. hmm 3 or so years? He's an American tho, so it's online until we can meet up at cons/otherwise. Works for me atm.
I made a two new SLAYERS anime music videos.
Zelgadis x Amelia - Search for the Cure (AU)
Lina Inverse x Gourry Gabriev - Wherever, Whenever
Kind of proud of them, although I want to try changing my style next time. Check out my YouTube for other new videos featuring cosplay and wig styling.
Also have a few new arts posted to My DeviantART. Although, I haven't drawn as much lately because my tablet was on the fritz.
glayish totally got me an amazing new one!!! *o*
She got it for my off my Amazon Wishlist!!
So many people got me amazing things!!! I'm waiting on them to arrive. I'll make a post to thank them all and for archival purposes. <333!!! I hope everyone enjoys the gifts I got them, too. Happy Holidays!!
